Explaining the rationale for the Citizens Service Delivery Charter, the Head of Policy and Ethics Unit ACC, Adu Amara stressed the need for all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and Service Providers to own and display Service Charters as the practice will promote transparency and accountability.  Mr. Amara underscored the point that where the Service Charter is properly followed it would generate public satisfaction in the work of the service provider.

The Head of Unit emphasized that the Service Charter is the document of the Hospital and the Hospital staff should treat it as their baby, with great care and concern.  Mr. Amara however, warned the health personnel that any departure by them from what is stated in the Charter would not be compromised by the Commission.

The ACC Regional boss furthered that, the ACC has together with the client-institutions developed Service Charters for the Immigration Department, Sierra Leone’s Road Transport Authority (SLRTA), the National Registration Secretariat (NRS) and many more.  Mr. Sandi emphasized that the ACC Regional Office would have to ensure that the provisions in the Charter are well publicized and followed to the letter.  He therefore encouraged the Heads of Units to do all they could to disseminate the launch of the Charter and its full details to their colleagues.  The Regional Manager North reiterated that Makeni Regional Hospital was very crucial in the fight against corruption and therefore pleaded with them to join the ACC combat graft and make Sierra Leone a better place.
