Ambassador Multi-Kamara welcomed with ‘opened hands’ in China

The Dean of ECOWAS Ambassadors in the People’s Republic of China has assured Sierra Leone’s new Ambassador to China, Abu Bakarr Multi-Kamara of their unflinching support to him and promised to share with him the challenges as well as the successes he (Multi-Kamara) will score in his new job. Ambassador Julio Morais from Cape Verde spoke on Tuesday, 24^th April in the presence of other African Ambassadors, whilst welcoming Ambassador Multi-Kamara in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China.

Ambassador Julio Morais told Ambassador Multi-Kamara that, he is welcomed in Beijing “with opened hands …” and that as Africans, encouraged him to always call on his colleagues,  as literally  “ our houses are always open …” and wished him more health, wealth  and success in his  new ambassadorial position. As Africans, he said, they are happy to welcome Multi-Kamara in Beijing.

In his response, Ambassador Multi-Kamara stated, that he was humbled and grateful for the honor given him by his colleague African Ambassadors. Ambassador Multi-Kamara spoke of his anticipation to be part of the African agenda to strengthen the ties between the African continent and China.

He said, with the support and guidance of his colleague African Ambassadors in the People’s Republic of China, he is sure of restoring the confidence between Sierra Leone and China and that he is in Beijing to also “learn ways that we could strengthen the ties…” Ambassador Multi-Kamara also informed his colleagues in Beijing that Sierra Leone, under the dynamic leadership of President Koroma, is going through exceptional changes as contained in the country’s ‘Agenda for Change’  and assured that due to the hard work of President Koroma, Sierra Leone is even on the verge of moving to what he referred to the ‘Agenda for Prosperity’.

Sierra Leone’s Embassy in China is accredited to a number of countries in South East Asia and the Pacific Region, including Japan, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, India and Australia.
