The little pesky one That kills viciously for fun Came back in a malicious attack After making such a terrible remark . Sensing her gimmick and well known parlance I essayed, an exposition will be a possible chance To give a daring smack, Wham! …to this irate menace An obvious choice, however, was to give it a poetic glance. . Malaria, which is currently a very serious global epidemic Is a parasitic disease that is very much endemic With symptoms that could be specific and non specific; In all and sundry, the resultant effect is always tragic… . Non-specific symptoms include: Chills, headaches, muscle pains; aka myalgia Tiredness, nausea, joint pains; aka arthralgia Vomiting, fevers, frequent stools; aka diarrhea “Thou art so callous, so vicious… Oh Malaria!” . Specific symptoms include: Low blood sugar, aka hypoglycemia Low blood hemoglobin, aka anemia Difficulty in breathing, aka dyspnea And when cerebral, shows as coma. . The parasitic host is a protozoan called plasmodium P. Vivax, P.Ovale, P. Malariae, P. Knowlesi and P.falciparum; Are kinsmen embedded with this potent venom in optimum, On the mortality chart, these folks always clock a maximum! . “My dear Anopheles, a reply to what you said to the human ear Was put forward by the same being you shall find in every area… Mission Elimination! Endorsed by the child of the universe, Is both a code name and an appeal, in the form of a verse”. . Clean up the ditches, the garbage in our respective niches No stagnant water, dispose well or burn all refuse to ashes If we raid the pesky Anopheles out off their various caches Malaria will be out done! To all concerned, this is a universal quest and a forecast… Stagnant water, improper disposal should be a thing of the past The United Nations, a body consisting of so many nations, Should spread this wave; for this and the next generations.
