Ex-Ports Workers call on ombudsman

Ex–workers of the Sierra Leone Port Authority have accused the ombudsman of being responsible over their current suffering situation.

Emmanuel Sandy and six other former workers of the Sierra Leone Ports Authority Security Division complained that they were sacked on November 6, 2007 without substantial reasons. Emmanuel Sandy said they took the issue to the ombudsman, but failed to yield to their pleas. Now the situation had degenerated to most of us losing our various benefits, he stated.

He pleaded to have the ombudsman attention to ensure that they are given their entitlements as justice delay is justice denial.

When contacted, the office of the ombudsman told this medium that they as an institution are not allowed to discuss any body’s complain to either the press or any individual what so ever.
