NDA Coordinator lays inroads in Tombo

Abdul Razak Bah, the National and International Coordinator of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) said his Friday prayers last week at the Tombo Central Mosque. The Muslim dominated anglers’ community gave (the Ujtaz – come politician) a wake attendance where he later had the opportunity to address the Jum’a congregation. He said he was no visitor but a brother in the community who was born and bred in an Islamic home. He said Muslims are never strangers in the mosques: “I’m more comfortable here in the mosque more than a non-Muslim who comes to pray for a purpose”. “I was born a Muslim and understand the correct culture and values of the Holy Qur’an and hadith of the holy prophet Muhammad (SAW)”, he said.

Abdul Razak told the Muslims: it is incumbent upon them to fight the Islamic Jihad, us in the later days, he says, being the promotion and propagation of the Da’wa (call to worship) and educating the Muslim Ummah (community).

Such love and amicability, Razak says, makes individuals bretherens with a committed purpose to promote and develop the human race. Razak said he is a visionary who promotes the people’s welfare. The mega icon who thinks religion is pacesetter to human development urged the Muslims to imbibe a culture of love for one another. He said it is good to reckon with persons or people with compassion love, care and attention for one another.

Earlier in the day before the Jum’a prayers, Razak and team visited various communities based organizations among them include: the Respect Women Organization, the Sherbro Town United Development Association, the Woman Tie Lapa Organizations, the Woman Take Control Organization, the Seaside Ataya Base Organization, and the IMMAT crew later in the day.

He purposed these visits to what he says, consulting views of the people of Constituency 94 –the electorates, for his possible vying for the member of parliament position in that part of the peninsula community. The NDA Coordinator visited Wallai, Ward 339, which comprised of Gbanko, Mamudu, Boyo and Russell communities. As well as the New Town community, Madina and wharf areas. Constituency 94 is comprises five Wards –Ward 336-340 covering Tombo and Waterloo rural communities respectively.

These areas spotted moribund and their inhabitants are conscious of their deficiencies which came pleading to the declaring, Razak, for a political representation. The people had a general cry of not being properly represented in parliament by their current serving MP. Hon. Chukuman Johnson. The roads are late-rite and the lack of school structures market building facilities, electricity, job facilities and good health centers formed the catalogue of issues on ground.

The test case of tribe and minority view showcased. In his response, Razak said the question of ethnicity, region, religion and belonging does not arise. Nationality and true identity is what should count the most, he says. He said the NDA does not discriminate tribe race or personality adding to the above. Come to talk of the Fullah tribal factor in the NDA, he said the party consists of all the ethnic tribes in the country. He said the White House was once built for white people on the discrimination line of black Americans, but said, that belief has now been countered with Barack Obama’s emergence as president. Tribe and race in this case, he says, does not matter, rather the individuals in elective positions. He asked the constituents to try him in the November pools and prove the difference.

Razak earmarks areas like the provision of cool rooms, investment of companies and industries that would be processing the fish into finish products and the paramount establishment of a healthcare centre in the community to improve its level of sanitation.

Other speakers include Mama G. of Ward 340. She spoke about women working side by side with men to acquire their 30% quota representation in politics. Aspiring councilors Mohamed Nabie aka Kempest of Ward 340, Ibrahim I. Sankoh of Ward 339, made statements. The aspiring candidates were handpicked by members of their communities to represent them.
