SLeCAD & US Visionary Team visit ABCs in Kambia and Poultry Farms in the Western Area.

On their arrival in Kambia, Mr Nanoh and the Visionary Team met with farmers at the District’s Agriculture office. In a brief meeting that lasted for just an hour, the Visionary Team was able to clearly outline their vision for Sierra Leone which is centred on creating a partnership that will create wealth and benefit communities.
Responding on behalf of the farmers, Councillor Jariatu of Rokupr expressed happiness about the plans of the Visionary Team. She stressed the significant role that women farmers have played in agriculture in the Kambia District and pledged that they will work with SLeCAD to ensure that poverty is defeated in their various communities.
Other valuable contributions were made by Mr. Olu John, President Farmers’ Federation and Mr. Umaru Koroma who represented the District Agricultural Officer.

The second phase of the day’s programme was a visit to six poultry farms in the Western Area. Among them were Poultry Farm Sumbuya, Pajah and IJ poultry and. The purpose of this visit is to understand the current level of operation of the poultry farms in order to determine the level of future collaboration and partnership.
