“Fadika Na Wi Bra” witnesses tell Court No. 2
Four out of six prosecution witnesses Monday 13th told High Court 2 that Lansana Fadika (in photo) is their Bra – their financier and most respected man.
Fadika, who doubles as complainant in a matter of wounding with intent, contrary to Section 18 of the Offences Against Persons’ Act, has lately told court 2 that he was wounded by the accused Aziz Carew.
Witnesses who gave their testimonies before Justice Browne Marke Monday 13th confirmed however that on 14th January, they were called upon by Fadika who was at Savage Square east of Freetown.
That from Savage Square, while in the company of their Bra Fadika, they got to Davies Street to start up their ‘house to house sensitization’ but eventually they caught up with accused Aziz and followers.
That they did not see the accused taking a weapon to stab their Bra Fadika, but said it was Fadika who yelled saying: “Aziz has stabbed me;” hence a call to attention.
“Fadika na wi bra,” the witnesses told the court, “we were with Fadika when Aziz wounded him and his boys approached us.”
“They threw mud ‘portor portor’ at us. We were detracted and therefore approached the doer. It was then that Aziz stabbed our Bra Fadika.”
Not one of the 6 witnesses said they’ve seen Aziz stabbing Fadika. They also told the court that after an alarm was raised by their Bra Fadika, they wasted no time, but pursued one of Aziz’s boys, arrested and brought him to Fadika, who eventually told them not to do any harm to the boy, as according to him ‘he (Fadika) is a peaceful man.’
It is a fact that Fadika who recently told High Court 2 that he was wounded by Aziz had previously told the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) TV that he was stabbed one of Aziz’s boys, not Aziz at all.
That the witnesses disclosed they did not see the accused stabbing their Bra Fadika, but acknowledged they were at the scene and were close to him.
The witnesses also told the court that it was Fadika who called on them to join him do house to house sensitization to the electorates in Ward 369 Constituency 104; asking them come out and vote their councilor of choice.
Bail application by defence lawyer Banja Tejan Sie was for the third time refused. The matter was adjourned to Wednesday 15th for further hearing.
