IMC dismayed over alledged attack on journalist
The Independent Media Commission has established with utmost dismay that following a Complaints Committee Meeting of the Commission held on Wednesday 30th November, 2011, involving one Rev. Darlington Morrison as complainant and the Editor of the News Hunters Newspaper a.k.a “Ariogbo”, some followers of the said Rev. Morrison it is alleged physically attacked the editor on his way to his office.
The Commission views this attack as not only unwarranted but an affront, to the Commission, especially when the matter is being addressed by the Commission.
The Commission strongly warns members of the public to refrain from such acts of indecency, especially so when they have lodged their complaints to the Commission.
In this regard, the Commission wants to assure the security and protection of all those, whose matters, are before the Commission.
Please be informed that the Commission was not only set up to protect the interest of the public against exploitation by the media but also to ensure that the security and protection of media personnel are fully safeguarded.
