African Youth Day: to be celebrated on 1st November, 2011
THEME: “Accelerating Youth Empowerment for Sustainable Development”
The African Union Commission will join the rest of the African community in the continent to observe the African Youth Day on November 1st, 2011.
This year, activities marking the African Youth Day will be launched on 31st October, 2011 in Khartoum, Republic of the Sudan by the department of Human Resources, Science and Technology of the African Union Commission (AUC).
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Dr. Jean Ping, is expected to deliver his message to the African youth during the Youth Day celebration in Khartoum on 1st November.
On the occasion of the African Youth Day, youth mobilization activities will be organized all over the national territory of the African Union member states.
On this memorable celebration of the African Youth Day 2011, the African Union
wishes to reiterate its clarion call for “ONE AFRICA…ONE VOICE”.
