Leone Stars captain bombshell – hints at retirement
Leone Stars Captain, Ibrahim Obreh Kargbo, has confirmed he will be retiring from the Sierra Leone National Football team after soon after the African Nation Cup finals in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. The Inter Baku midfielder expressed dissatisfaction over the manner in which management of the Sierra Leone Football Association treats players.
“This is mostly what has forced me to lay my boot and hands off playing for the national football team,” he said.
“It seems as if politics has taken over the Sierra Leone national team.”
He said however that he is not a cabalist in the FA and would rather not be one.
“My work is to play for my country when called upon. I virtually have not got the cooperation of members of the Sierra Leone Football Association ever since I was made captain of the national team.”
“It is also time for me to give the chance to up and coming players anyway.”
The Inter Baku star will miss his club home match this weekend as he has two yellow cards from his last two matches.
