High-profile Government delegates arrive in London
A high-profile government delegation arrived this morning in London ahead of this year’s Trade and Investment Conference on 18th & 19th November 2009.
The delegation include among others; Finance Minister Samura Kamara, Information & Broadcasting Minister Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, and Foreign Affairs & International Relations Minister Zainab Hawa Bangura.
Others currently in London for the conference include: the Minister of Trade David Carew, Energy Minister Ogunlade Davidson, Tourism Minister Himdolo Trye, Mayor of Freetown Herbert Williams, Chairman of Kalahun District Council Tom Nyuma, Chairman of Kono District Council John Yambasu, Charles Mambu of the Civil Society Movement and the President of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) Umaru Fofanah.
President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma and his entourage are expected later today.
Meanwhile, the conference continues to gather momentum with delegates and investors storming London ahead of Wednesday.
Almost all hotels within the Queen Elizabeth Conference Centre where the two-day conference will take place are booked.
The government of Sierra Leone hopes to attract foreign investment into the country as well as encouraging donor agencies to make more financial commitments to boost the Sierra Leone economy.
