Maada Bio attacked as Bo town set on fire during APC and SLPP clash
Fighting and disorder has broken out in Bo as SLPP flag bearer Julius Maada Bio (photo) visits the South and Southeastern regions.
Reports reaching Sierra Express Media allege that as the SLPP rally passed a street close by the APC office, a stone was thrown at Maada Bio, to which he received a head injury. At this point SLPP regrouped and retaliated by attacking the APC office. Also the office of Civil Society, Di Pa e Yai was set ablaze. In turn, the SLPP office in Bo has been attacked.
It is reported that the APC South Regional Chairman’s office and home are in flames as allegedly SLPP and APC supporters armed with knives, cutlass, stones, and bottles are rioting.
As the violence continues to escalate police are trying to get the situation under control and it is understood live bullets have been shot into the air to control the fracas.
Latest update is that SLPP supporters from Kenema are jumping in the streets and heading for Bo.
Updates to follow!

The APC has always used violence against the SLPP and the press:
11th September 2011The attack and vandalisation of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party offices in Freetown, Bo, and other places just after the announcement of the 2007 elections results; The attack on SLPP Headquarters in March 2009 during which women were raped, the office and the Unity Radio Station were vandalised and set on fire,” the press release stated. Power was handed to you peacefully.
Police violence in the bye-elections in Tongo Field Pujehun and Zimi is another alarming rate of political violence in the country.
What the hell was this **** doing around the SLPP Rally even when his Excellency warned all APC stewards and supporters to stay away from the SLPP Rally which was supposed to be free without harassments and violence? Why allowed lawless youths to destabilize a peaceful political rally. A direct attacked on democracy. They still hanged around to cause havoc, intimidate or repress dissidents and the opposition members and press freedom to operate. Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad are calling upon the Government and the international community to intervene to stop this madness and to assure the people for free and fair 2012 elections and be true to their country above party lines.

According to press report; the president ordered all APC offices in Bo and else where to remain closed during the SLPP Rallies. The president order supposed to be carried out but why were there some remnants of APC elements doing in the party offices even when they were instructed to vacate?
11th September 2011If SLPP supporters sang, jumped and insulted Mr.Koroma, does that lead to an attack against the leader of another presidential hopeful life? Check yourselves out man.
Is the President the almighty God that someone can not challenge, criticise or insult?
An attack against any opposition or the press is an attack against democratic values
