Agriculture boat abandoned at Fisheries
Reports have it that MV Sewanje landing craft that was commissioned last year by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security at Fisheries for the purpose of agriculture in Tomabum is an apparent misuse of public funds.
Ever since the boat was secured by the Ministry of Agriculture from India it was abandoned at the Marine Slipway at the Queen Elizabeth II Quay.
An engineer at the Ministry of Agriculture who asked for his name not to be mentioned said the engine room and cabin of the boat is closed up with the captain bridge left open.
Workers transferred from Fisheries to the Marine Slipway to work on the craft have not been receiving salaries for two years now.
At a particular time this year, the Chief Adviser to President Koroma visited the craft at its parking pace did not say anything positive of the craft and workers.
