Sierra Leone author Winston Forde releases new book ‘From Aden to Bliss’
Sierra Leone born author Winston Forde (in photo) recently announced the publication of his 7th book, “From Aden to Bliss.”
From Aden to Bliss shares a love story expressed between two lovers, through their letters – On February 27, 1963, author Winston Forde wrote to his then girlfriend, Gloria, words that have proved her lasting and favourite quote. Later that year, they were to have a serious row that threw them apart for the next two years until he decided to renew contact by writing her an amazing letter on December 3, 1965. And as they say, the rest is history. In this newly published book, readers get to experience the roller coaster of sentiments these two lovers shared as expressed in this collection of letters. Everyone is invited to feel the love that exudes in From Aden to Bliss.
The letters written by the author are so raw, real, and honest that readers will find themselves feeling like the recipients. Not only did he pen down his love, longing, waiting, and thoughts, but also the events that transpired at that time. This compilation of love letters offers readers a glimpse of history through the eyes of the author. From the most mundane of activities to the exciting to the emotive to the description of the place and happenings in Aden, readers are taken back to this not-so-long ago era to experience or reminisce life as it was for the author.
The author and Gloria’s communication and relationship were re-ignited in a few lines but those lines brought them a future of love, marriage, and family. And everyone becomes witness to their love through these letters.
