Gbangbatoke Chief damns SLPP MP
The Paramount Chief of Gbangbatoke, PC John Gibao Russel Nyama has dismissed allegations made by an SLPP Member of Parliament as baseless and full of retched political tinge.
Chief John Russel and three others were before Parliament for approval to serve as members of the advisory council of the National Drug Law Agency.
Three of the four Presidential nominees went through successful Parliamentary approval whereas Chief John Russel’s own was deferred to a later date owing to unsubstantiated allegations from Hon. Ansu Kaikai, that he (Chief John Russel) is a police wanted person for obtaining money by false pretences.
The SLPP Honourable told the well of Parliament that the said Paramount Chief falsely obtained money from him and later fled to a destination unknown to both him and the police.
According to Chief Russel, allegations made against him bear no truth, and are but woeful lies.
“I am an unbending, unchanging and forward looking Paramount Chief,” Chief Russel said, “I am aware of the fact that politicians of the SLPP want me to go down because they see me as serious threat to their selfish intentions.”
It could be recalled that the Lower Banta Chiefdom in Gbangbatoke, Moyamba District, has long been under the ruling of the Margai family.
Chief John Russel disclosed to this press that claims made against him by the SLPP Honourable apparently identifies bad attitudes of persons seeking to see the good intention of President Koroma disrupted.
“I am who I am and will not sit by and see ill gotten politicians derail the good intention I have for this country,” Chief John Russel said.
“Honourable Ansu Kaikai has missed his point. It is because President Koroma believes in me; he decided to nominate me to fill in position as member of the advisory council of the national drug law.”

It is a fact that Chief John Russel, prior to his meeting with Parliamentarians, applied for police clearance and was issued it unrestraint.

In the content of the police clearance certificate, it is stated that the P.C John Gibao Russell Nyama has been screened by name check and fingerprint classification test at the criminal investigations department (CID). That no criminal record was traced at all.
The certificate was later signed and stamped by the director of CID Chief Superintendent Suluku Conteh.
A concerned citizen that spoke to our reporter condemns the action of the SLPP Honourable and refers to it as a complete disgrace to society.
Findings have it that Honourable Ansu Kaikai calculatedly accused Chief John Russel of obtaining money by false pretences because his party- the SLPP, believes that the latter is toeing lines of the ruling APC party.
