Despite recent riots by Zamalek fans last Saturday in the second leg encounter of the African Champions League against their North African counterparts club Africain, the Egyptian FA has accepted that their Premier League competition will resume next week 13th of April as arranged. This is good news for soccer stakeholders who recently complained of bankruptcy if the authorities in charge failed to do the right thing. It could be recalled that the domestic league has been put on hold for over two months due to the January 25 Revolution.
However, in a wake of recent football hooliganism the Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf expressed concern that he would favour an end to this season completely.
Today Sierra Express Media understands the Egyptian FA Chairman Samir Zaher and Supreme Council of Sports Chief Hassan Sakr has been given the green light from the authorities for resuming the season.
“It will have no great changes, as always fans will be allowed to watch matches normally,” Zaher said.
