ECOWAS to deliberate on Ivory Coast, Niger, Guinea, Chad and ECOWAS chair

Authority of Heads of State and Government of Economic Community of West African States Commission (ECOWAS) including Sierra Leone’s President Ernest Bai Koroma will meet at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp – Hilton Hotel in Abuja, Nigeria on 23-24 March, under the auspices of ECOWAS to deliberate on issues relating to Ivory Coast, Niger, Guinea and Chad.  (Photo: Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister Hon. According to ECOWAS Communications Department, the ECOWAS Heads of State and Government were invited by its Chairman President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, after confirming 23-24th March 2011 suitable for the Thirty–ninth ordinary Summit of the ECOWAS Authority.

The two days will see ECOWAS leaders deliberate on the current situation on the Cote D’Ivoire crisis, review a decision on suspending the Republic of Niger, review Memorandum of the decision of suspending the Republic of Guinea and also, discuss the matter of Chad for Observer status with ECOWEAS.

President Ernest Bai Koroma will be in attendance with Sierra Leone’s Information and Communications Minister Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, Deputy Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, Hon. Mrs. Ebun Jusu, Sierra Leone’s Permanent Representative to ECOWAS H.E. Henry O. Macauley and Unisa Kamara, Director Africa Division.
