Sierra Fishing Company in compliance with ban of pair trawling

Sierra Fishing Company, conveniently situated at Kissy Dock, is a local seafood business that has been operating for over 50 years. The Company is already Sierra Leone’s largest supplier of seafood and has established a network of eight fish depots across the country and exports to other West African countries, including Ghana, Mali, Nigeria, the Ivory Coast and Liberia.

In recognition of the depleting marine resources, Sierra Fishing Company, as law abiding citizens, has 100% complied with the instruction of His Excellency, the President Ernest Bai Koroma through the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources to ban pair trawling. The company is converting two pairs to single trawlers and is in the process of ordering the equipment to convert the remaining three pairs to single trawlers.
