SLPP Blames John Benjamin

Supporters of the opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) so to say youth, men, and women cast blame on Chairman John Benjamin  (in photo) for allowing Dr. Bu- Buakei Jabbie to drag the party to court.

Supporters say executives of the SLPP have had their hands into uncalled for activities which has landed the party in serious constitutional misunderstanding.

“Chairman Benjamin and the party Secretary General Jacob Jusu Saffa have had jolly days doing things at will as if the SLPP is their personal property,” supporters in one voice say.

Samuel Kargbo of Fergusson Street said he was at a meeting called upon by Dr. Bu-Buakei to discuss with party executive on issues the SLPP constitution.

That Dr. Bu-Buakei emphasized on a clause that calls for the election of party officials after every two years.

Supporters also accused the leadership of the SLPP for ignoring constitutional requirement concerning the election of executive officers.

It is revealed to this press that the former Vice President, Solomon Berewa reminded the executive of the SLPP of Dr. Bu-Buakei’s attempt to frog march them to the court, but was never listened to.

Sources say Dr. Bu-Buakei was pivot to the writing of SLPP’s recent constitution.

Although supporters accused him of receiving Le 200 million bribe from the APC, it is believed that the decision by Supreme Court for the postponement of SLPP’s March 5th election came owing to unawareness of executive of the party.

Reflection was drawn to Charles Margai, who, until his resignation from the SLPP, also took the party to the court on issues of constitutional violations some years ago.

“Back To Basics I Say” Usman Boie

Confident and forward looking SLPP aspirant, Mr. Usman Boie Kamara, intends implementing a doctrine he called as ‘back to basics’ should he become President of Sierra Leone.

At exactly 10 pm past Wednesday, one of SLPP’s Presidential hopefuls, Usman Boie Kamara, was at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Cooperation (SLBC) to state reasons qualifying him as the fittest to lead the SLPP in the soon to come Presidential elections in 2012.

The scene went interesting shortly after Usman Boie revealed his strategy for Sierra Leone should he win the ticket to State House.

“We need to go back to the basics. Remember hard work brings success.  And Sierra Leone will only grow if we inculcate the doctrine of hardwork,” Usman Boie said.

His emphasis on hard work apparently moved quotients of viewers, who undoubtedly sent in text messages to the favour of Usman Boie.

Records have it that Usman Boie is an unsoiled and spotless politician.

It is revealed that the SLPP politician has had credits in the field of mining and was core to the creation of policies and strategies of mining standards.

Usman Boie, we are told, has worked as a mining consultant for reputable international institutions and was Sierra Leone’s most experienced Mines Officer.

That Usman Boie is better placed to challenge President Koroma in the 2012 Presidential elections.
