Police Sells ACC Suspects
Persons recently arrested by the ACC for illegal exportation of timbers walked out of police cells at the Ross Police Station after giving bribes to the crime officer.
Findings say officials of Anti Corruption Commission, few days ago, handed over two suspects to the police at Ross Road for safe custody.
The crime officer, one Inspector Talker, we are told, negotiated the released of all two ACC suspects without the prior knowledge and authority of Anti Corruption officers.
As at press time, it is told that Inspector Talker is under detention and may face an inquiry.
It could be recalled that quite a substantial amount of containers were recently intercepted and into which was timbers for shipment outside Sierra Leone.
In the containers were timbers to be exported oversea; an action contravening government’s imposed moratorium.
Person arrested were detained at respective police detention facilities for safe custody.
Two, among the lot, were escorted to Ross Police Station and detained.
To the shock ACC officials, a glutton police Inspector is reportedly unwarrantably released their suspects after being bribed money.
The Director of Police Media, Assistant Superintendent Ibrahim Samura, was contacted, but said he is unaware of such happening.
He however promised to cross check with the LUC of Ross Road Police and relay same to this press.
