Minister Rejects Lilian’s Gift
Specifics as to information concerning the submission of a ‘brown cover’ gift to the Fisheries Minister by officials of Okeke Agency, have reached ears of Sierra Express Media.
Workers of Okeke Fishing Agency, our findings revealed, were sent by Lilian Lisk to offer a brown envelope as the gift to the new Minister of Fisheries.
Sources say that the Minister respectfully turned down the offer and marched them out of his office.
It could be recalled that Lilian Lisk, early 2010, had problems with one of APC’s performing Ministers, Madam Afsatu Kabba.
Lilian went as far as submitting a letter of complaint, revealing how on number of occasions, she had offered bribes to the Afsatu Kabba.
Lilian’s letter of complaint was hurriedly investigated and as a result, had the former Minister arraigned before the well of the high court for trial.
Sierra Express has confirmed that Lilian Lisk did send her workers to the office of the Minister of Fisheries to offer him a ‘big brown’ envelope as a Christmas gift.
The endeavor to offer or bribe the Minister of Fisheries, Hon. Soccoh Kabia, apparently disclosed tendencies that lured the conduct of public officers into issues of corruption.
Sources say it is now becoming a lifestyle that owners of fishing companies have field days bribing and conspiring with officials of the Ministry of Fisheries on issues of tax payment.
Efforts to have the Minister make a comment on the attempt by Okeke workers to offer him a gift proved futile.
