The Army Contract… Defrock Sylvanus Koroma Now!
The contract to have President Koroma’s brother supply the take home rice to officers and men of the military seemed a negating guarantee of the Pa’s ‘zero tolerance on corruption.’ (Photo: Sylvanus Junior Koroma)
It is a fact that the Army rice contract was first contracted to African Sunshine by persons designated to such responsibility.
Two months after, it was revealed that the younger brother of President Koroma has appealed the decision of procurement officers.
Such, as observed, brought to light conspiratorial manipulations of officials of national procurement office in the withdrawal of the Army rice contract from African Sunshine and passed same to Sierra Commodity, a company owned by Sylvanus Koroma aka ‘Junior What a Man.’
It must be noted however that prior to the withdrawal of the rice contract from African Sunshine to Sierra Commodity, President Koroma’s younger brother used to operate a business called Harmony Trading Company.
Findings say Harmony imported rice worth millions of uncooked United States dollars.
The importer, Sylvanus Koroma, was to have paid billions of the Leones custom dues, but used his influence into having officials of finance and NRA grant him tax and duty waiver; of which a letter was written by an underperforming Minister, David O. Carew.
The same Harmony Company was again used by the younger brother of President Koroma to bid for the Army rice contract.
Of course, Harmony was turned down by procurement officials on grounds of too many irregularities observed.
Bad practices, the grey haired say, influenced minds of the unpatriotic into corruptly manipulating withdrawal of the Army rice contract from African Sunshine and hand out the same to the company of the younger brother of the President.
Little wonder though that Sierra Leoneans still instill the practice of bad decision as a result of political interferences.
The archives, we know, have information revealing bad conducts of President Koroma’s younger brother Sylvanus Koroma.
That apart, he must have been made to face an Anti Corruption probe for not paying dues to the tune of billions of Leones before being allowed to register another company and awarded government contract to supply rice to the Army.
