Lauretta Will Educational Foundation: Pictorial on awards banquet, book drive and sanitation project

The Lauretta Will Educational Foundation had an awards banquet on November 13, 2010. We now bring you pictures on that important event held in Atlanta, Georgia.  In the photo: Honourable Saspo Sankoh, First Secretary and Acting Head of Chancery, Sierra Leone Embassy received an award for the support from the Sierra Leone Embassy, on behalf of His Excellency Bockarie Stevens, Sierra Leone Ambassador to the United States. The picture also includes Dr. Will and her family.

For her next trip (2010) to Sierra Leone, Dr. Will will be traveling in December, 2010 and will be involved with Youth Empowerment through Technology Trainings and workshops, as well as implementing “Globalization Concepts” in rebuilding post-war Sierra Leone.

“ I’m currently teaching MBA classes on Leadership, EBusiness, Globalization and Computer Applications and International Business courses at Strayer University, American InterContinential University (AIU) on Ground, AIU Online and Troy University.  So I would love to share some of the knowledge of the current global trends with the University community in Sierra Leone” Professor Will said.

Since 2004, founder, Dr. Lauretta Will, has been relentlessly collecting college and high school textbooks and keeping them in her garage, and closets and then pack them in barrels for neighborhood distribution and for shipment to Sierra Leone. In 2009, the project was incorporated and institutionally publicized. A Board of Directors and an Advisory Board were formed. By rough estimation, the worth of donated textbooks, encyclopedia and educational materials had exceeded the 5-year $100,000.00 goal.
