Saturday 13th is the long awaited Miss ECOWAS beauty pageant to be held at the Miatta Conference Hall, Brook Fields.
30 beauty queens from countries across West Africa arrived last week ahead of the contest which is to take place on the 13th.
It is expected that the winner of ‘The Miss ECOWAS’ beauty competition shall automatically become ECOWAS Peace Ambassador and shall have the task to mobilize colleague beauty queens on issues of peace propagation.
Sierra Leone’s beauty queen, Stella Bangura, who happened to be in the list of persons to compete for the 2010 Miss ECOWAS contest, has called on colleague contestants to give their best so as to communicate with societies the world over on West Africa’s stance on issues of peace promotions.
She had appealed to Sierra Leonean to come out in their numbers in support of upcoming Peace Ambassadors of Africa.
She however encouraged all to buy the ticket to enable the organizers take care of expenses of representative peace Ambassadors from respective African countries.
The beauty show, it is revealed, will witness performances from a popular reggae star Jimmy Cliff. Musical legends from Senegal are said to have arrived and will perform at the ceremony.
It must be noted the Ghana’s patriot, who is the Chief Executive Officer of 702 Production, Maxim Mensah, will again make huge success as she parades with young ladies propagating peace in Africa.
The erudite Ghanaian peace Ambassador appeals to Sierra Leoneans to show restraint and help make the event a success.
“We are here to make a difference and to show the world that Sierra Leone has natural potentials and is place for big time investments.” she said.
