Tsunami Defection to SLPP – PMDC Holland is no more
The SLPP Continental Europe has embarked on a campaign to swell their membership and to make their chapter very competitive with others in the UK and the USA. The executive of this vibrant SLPP chapter has been in serious talks with PMDC members in Holland, in order to persuade them to join the rank and file of the newly reformed SLPP. This laudable and giant move has yielded dividend.
On the 16th October 2010, Mr. Teddy Foday-Musa, a founding member of the PMDC, together with six former members of the PMDC Holland Chapter, declared their membership for the SLPP, and automatically registered with the SLPP-Continental Europe Chapter. Mr. Foday-Musa made his declaration in Eindhoven, the now Headquarters of the SLPP Continental Europe. He told the gathering that he is no longer a member of the PMDC, and that he is taking his exit from the PMDC out of his own free will. In his resignation letter from the PMDC, tendered in couple of months ago, he made it clear that the current leader of the PMDC, in the person of Charles Francis Margai, “has held the party a HOSTAGE in order to enhance his own selfish political aspirations”. He further stated that the dictatorial leadership style of Mr. Charles Francis Margai (CFM) has nurtured DISUNITY among party stalwarts. He said: “I find it difficult to operate under such an unfriendly atmosphere, as I did not register with the PMDC to make Enemies, but friends with the desire to peacefully meet and interact with my fellow compatriots”.
Mr. Osman Kabba, another key foundation member and former Financial Secretary of PMDC-Netherlands Chapter also declared for the SLPP. In his message to the gathering, Mr. Kabba manifested his frustration about the leadership style of Charles Margai and his lack of vision for Sierra Leone. His declaration was followed by Mr. Lamin Sesay, a respectable Sierra Leonean gentleman in The Netherlands. In his declaration speech, he told the crowd that the Declaration moment was a historic one, and that he would like the attendees to listen to him as he needs to clear the air on what has been a long-time accusation against the SLPP. He started by telling the audience that he is a Northerner by birth, born in the Kambia District of Sierra Leone. He categorically told the gathering that the SLPP is not a Mende-man party. He said “the SLPP was founded in the North by our grandparents. Today, I am proud to declare myself as one of their own sons, travelling along their historic path”.
Mr. Bockrie Kallon, former Assistant Coordinator of PMDC-NL Chapter also declared for the SLPP. The declaration ended with Mr. Jakuba Janneh and Mr. Musa Kieta, whose declaration was based on the clear understanding from Mr. Lamin Sesay that the SLPP started in the North. Mr. Keita said: “I was ignorant yesterday, but know I now, and for this, I declare for the SLPP”
The Declaration ceremony ended with a closing comment from Mr. Solomon Baimba Mansaray, the Chairman for SLPP Continental Europe (SLPP-CE). He thanked Mr. Teddy Foday-Musa and his colleagues for making the right decision. He encouraged other PMDC members to follow the foot-step of Mr. Foday-Musa and the others. The Chairman further told the gathering that PMDC members would always have a place in the SLPP. He took the opportunity to tell Sierra Leoneans in the Netherlands about up the coming SLPP-CE Executive elections.
The occasion was graced by the following people: Mr. Bialor Shaw, the Chairman for the Sierra Leonean community in Eindhoven, Mr. Mbamusa Sorleh, one time Mayor for Kono District, Mr. Kabineh Janneh, Party stalwarts, observers and journalists. The Vote of thanks was delivered by a senior Sierra Leonean citizen in Eindhoven: Mr. Osman Jalloh alias Morpleh. He was the host of the gathering in Eindhoven.

Ernest Smith, You dont base you asserttion on any good foundational permise. Who told you that these so-called defectors are serious about any change in Sierra leone. they are totally very desparate men who are tired, just like you, of living a miseable life in the Netherlands. They want to go back to sierra leone as con-politicians who have no vision for themselves, let alone Sierra Leone. If I may ask: what is your vision for mama sierra leone? Nothing!! You first of all have to put your own life in order before you can embark on becoming a politician: stop the lies, bogus and empty talks. Nobody will take you serious in sierra leone, knowing fully well the role “bellah” role you played during the NPRC days. I pray that your cohorts will realised their mistake and know that you are not reliable and that PMDC does not need the likes of you. Politics is about commanding trust and reliability. you and your men lack these qualities, which disqualifies from holding any position in sierra Leone. Please, put your house first in order before you start to oppose others or get into politics

You can really see the unseriousness of the writer in the person of Ernest Smith. Any one who knows Ernest, knows that he is no other person but a liar and a sychophant. Those Mr. Smith is refering to as foundation memebers of PMDC were just mere back benchers and Ernest is giving the impression to the world that these are actually important people. Politics is about numbers but it is better for one to have few vibrant members than have many who eventually become a liability. So where will Mr. Teddy Foday-Musa go next? APC I suppose…when there is nothing more to exploit in the SLPP. But we are watching you Teddy!

please mr.writer,i believe good moduration of writing from someone posing as SEC.GEN OF the slpp is a must.
22nd October 2010note that most of your so called defectors were not even registered members of the PMDC.
I advice that you call them new members and not defectors.Infact the calibre of most of your so called new members is as low as that of the diasporic secretary general of your so called continental Europe SLPP,WHICH IS WHY THEY ARE NOT FIT TO BE MEMBERS OF THE SLLP THAT I KNOW.
