President Koroma’s speech to parliament really makes some of us optimistic about the future

Despite the hard work and dedication there are still individuals who believe taking a government position is an opportunity to enrich themselves.  (Photo:  Ibrahim Worneh, author)

As the new Anti Corruption commissioner has taken up office, he should show to the people of Sierra Leone that he is there to help minimize corruption that has been eating every fabric of the economy,   he should show outstanding examples by showing to the people of sierra Leone that he  has  an anti viruses to disinfect  this viruses that has cause so much pain and trauma in our beloved  country.

Thanks to the dynamic leader for his non  interference in to the work of the ACC, I implore every government officer or every senior Civil servant, to   spend time with people  living around places like Kroobay, Calabatown, Duff Curt,  or the most unforgivable places around Freetown  and sierra Leone at large, to see the  damage poverty and corruption  is causing to the  life of our people, this fight is not an ACC fight alone, it is our responsibility  for every Sierra Leonean to have their own anti viruses to clean the entire system, that have left our country  being dependant on foreign aid,  it is time for every  patriotic Sierra Leonean to take up this fight seriously , when you look in the  eyes of the victims you will join us fight this virus if you love your country.  SALONE  BETE  NA WE  ALL  BETE.

We are hoping as Sierra Leone has won the millennium development goal  in putting HIV  aids  under control,  our hopes are higher  that Sierra Leone will win another millennium development goal in reducing corruption  and poverty ,those are the   epidemics that are destroying our country.

Now is the time for every Sierra Leonean to understand what democracy is all about.

IT MEANS GOVERNEMENT OF THE  PEOPLE  BY THE  PEOPLE  AND FOR THE  PEOPLE.

The power lies in the hands of the people,   I want Sierra Leoneans to understand  their constitutional right, that ministers  or senior civil servant  are not our high lords,  they were elected to power to serve the people of Sierra Leone,  these ministers and  senior civil  servants   are our employees,  they are not above the law  including President Koroma , they should be accountable to us, we are the employers  because at the end of their term  they will be campaign for our jobs,  by voting them into public places.

However we urge urgent action by government to increase the quality of life and standard of living to ever y Sierra Leonean by doing this will help minimize corrupt activities in public offices,  especially the law enforcement agencies  to be well paid and to provide them the necessary  equipments to dispense their duties.

To  every Sierra Leonean  if you  think your right has been abused by government    you have the right to sue  the government , for example if a  minister  needs  to use an ATM   or other services, let him join the queue,  he shouldn’t be given  priorities   because  he is a minister, they should be regarded as head of service providers to the people of Sierra Leone, not  high lords,  because most of the crime that are committed by this  minister  both corruption and abuse of public offices are gone un punishable.

So it is time for our brothers and sister to understand their constitutional right, and   start monitoring their employees, and bring them to task for their wrong doings, and commend them for things they have done right.

WE WON’T STOP FIGHTING FOR THE RIGHT OF OUR PEOPLE UNTIL OUR PEOPLE HAVE A QUALITY OF LIFE, AND EQUAL RIGHTs AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.

HERE  ARE  SOME  OF THE  THINGS THAT  SHOULD BE   RUNNING  IN  EVERY  PATRIOTIC  SIERRA LEONEAN’s MIND AND  SHOULD  BE PUT  INTO  PERSPECTIVE.

Gone are the days when politicians with king size bellies convince people with sugar coated vibes
Gone are the days when impunity was an order of the day
Gone are the days when politician and civil servant believe NA USAI THEN TIE COW NA DE E DE EAT
Gone are the days when politician steal money to build luxury houses in abroad
Gone are the days when president   abuse his office and go unpunished at the end of his term
Gone are the days when permanent secretaries na de par e  borbor
Gone are the days when corrupt business people put the government in their pocket
Gone are the days when civil servant use government office for political gains
Gone are the days when unproductive government official   allow to continue

According to my understanding it is required by law for every government minister including president and parliamentarians to declare their assets annually, but this has not been done, and  it is a clear breach of ACC act, we are asking the ACC to take action  on this and  to make sure the law is respected,  Sierra Leone should be a place where people should be held accountable for their misconduct,  not condo wrong doers,  excuses shouldn’t be tolerated, if  ministers and  parliamentarians  refuse to adhere to the ACC act  we  want to see the defaulters  charged and drag to court.
