That Williams Street house is a death trap!

Residents of Williams Street have told this press that their minds are in torment and they want government to intervene in causing the forceful eviction of all inmates of the said house.

Sources say the building in question was built some 50 years ago. The building, they say, is dilapidated due to lack of maintenance and has been left to pose a serious threat to the lives of persons living at Williams Street.

A legwork tour by this press has shown that iron rods and metals holding the house are disintegrating and can no longer cause its firmness.

According to residents of Williams Street, anytime there is heavy down pour of rain, rubble of ruined wreckage falls off the building sending gloomy signs of imminent and eventual collapse of the building.

During our investigation, it was revealed that the old aged three-storey building has existed scores and scores of years, that the true owner of the building was dead and all three of his children live in the United States and do not show any interest of having the house maintained.

As at present, the building has been barricaded preventing access to it.

In the face of a looming disaster, residents of Williams Street have called on government immediate intervention. They have also called on the Office of National Security (ONS) and the Ministry of Lands and Country Planning to quickly come to their rescue before it is too late.

“We don’t want to experience another Owen Street disaster,” neighbours said.
