Recycled APC allegations and stories
Regular readers of the African Champion and Standard Ties newspapers must be amused at the photograph which they like to publish of what is supposed to be me. If it is indeed me they must also be wondering what may have happened; either I may have had too much booze on the night before, or else that I was suffering from severe HIV/AIDS. It apparently never occurs to the editors that they expose themselves to ridicule because those who see me walking the streets see a healthy and pleasant looking Puawui. Let the jokers continue having fun at their own expense. (Photo: Dr. Sama Banya)
It appears to be Diaspora week when our friends who have been out there driving taxis or working as security guards etc., draw attention to themselves in the hope that the special office in the Presidency would remember their plight, and more importantly their loyalty to the red sun. And who knows, fortune may well smile on them and they would be invited to come and fill the vacant posts forcefully vacated by presumed supporters of the Torkpoi.
A few days ago a Mustapha Kpaka wrote his piece and yesterday we had another of them. He carries the name of Arolyn (some name indeed!) Koroma from Washington, DC. He went in for John Benjamin but all he wrote in the Torchlight newspaper was much of the same. We’d read it all before and it just appeared as a variation of the same theme. “SLPP was this, SLPP was that; they spent 120 months in office and did nothing” until the APC appeared on the scene and as IBM Kamara would write, they have transformed the lives of the people. Compared to that the SLPP was corrupt, emptied the treasury and left double digit inflation. Poor chap, I am certain that even his patrons would shake their heads at the irony. He went particularly for John Benjamin but again he only made a fool of himself. I am glad that John usually ignores the likes of Arolyn Koroma. One is at a loss over all the fuss being made because JOB had said that Ernest was not fit to rule. In politics I have heard government leaders described as having failed and ought to resign; or is incompetent and should give way; or a disappointment; or the worse administration the country has ever had and should give way etc., etc.
But to get back to Arolyn Koroma’s list of sins of the SLPP in office, particularly when he compares them with the barely three months of the APC in office. Can the young man be reminded that rice is still at least Le120,000 per bag and that even as I write this piece the dollar is currently going at Le4,300? He should further ask his family here the price of essential food stuff in the market. So much for the people suffering under the SLPP. If he knows anything about inflation he could also make enquiries about today’s inflation rate. The APC may not have been responsible for the worldwide inflation and economic downturn, but rather have failed to control it as other countries have done. Ours has been a free fall; a laze fair approach if you like.
The African Champion accuses the SLPP of being a hate firm. I shall make just one request of the editor because it appears he did not read or digest what I wrote very recently. Would he publish the composition of the Cabinet and parastatals under the SLPP compared with today? He accuses me of ethnic prejudice; again I shall only respond with a loud ha! ha! Ha!
Here we go again. The Torchlight newspaper comes out with a story that “Sylvia Blyden has betrayed Foday Sankoh” but as was expected it attributes it to an anonymous former RUF commando. That is the pro APC press for you.

That what there arrogance have lead there small minds to . A taxi driver can even be a better ruler than a political philosopher . I want them to look at the history of the great U S of A , the great leaders who have been very good in the office of the presidency . Some of them school teacher, journalist , actors etc. SLPP in power with all the phd’s , practical what can they bluff about to the people of that country other than chaos . For eleven years , good seven years they only left the country tattered and dilapidated . This theatrical dislike and fault-finding is just a cover up to completely different feelings. This is a childish level of behavior – when boys pull girls’ hair to get their attention. But what can we do if we have such opposition? Let compare A j jammeh of the Gambia not a philosopher but he has taken his country to a different level it was before he came to power. What our phd holders doing , NOTHING . Other than theatrical speeches. The SLPP “non-system” opposition acts like a passionate woman who can only think about the object of her admiration. She can not think about the constitution, the laws and the tactics of her actions. Just think about it: “non-system” SLPP have not elaborated any practical program throughout their existence that became succesfull. Now we have a President who is delivering what he promises. During the SLPP reign we were already waiting to do our national marathon on the luigi bridge. Still waiting for more lies . huh….

It is shameful that someone like Dr. Sama Banya and the SLPP party think every Sierra Leonean living in the diaspora work as taxi drivers or security guard. I have repeatedly heard these statements in nearly every statement the SLPP and its members make referring to Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora. For Your Information, most Sierra Leoneans i know who live and work in the USA, have very respectable jobs. You small minded SLPP members may not have researched the truth and decided to go with the stereotype, which is hardly the truth anyway. I can tell you that there are Sierra Leonean doctors, Lawyers, Accountants, College Professors, Social Workers,IT experts etc. Also may i point out that others who work out as Taxi Drivers and Security Guards are working very hard to make an honest living and they also contribute a lot through the remittance they send back home every month unlike some of you in the SLPP who in your time in political office, spent years stealing from the nation’s coffers. So the next time anyone wants to make a derogatory statement about Sierra Leoneans living in the diaspora, just remember they may be better Sierra Leoneans than you are.
