46 year old man rapes 8 year old child
A 46 year old man married with two wives and eight children, Mohamed Kamara is presently on the run after raping an 8 year old girl at the Koya chiefdom.
According to family source the incident took place in the house of the perpetrator as they were neighbors. On the 13th of July 2010 the victim the was at home waiting for her parents who had gone to the farm for work when the accused called her to buy him some kola nut. On her arrival to hand over the kola nut to Mr. Kamara he grabbed her and put a cloth over her mouth for her not to shout and threatened to kill her and he forcefully raped the child. During this period his wives and children were not at home as all of them has gone to the farm.
After raping the girl she ran to her parents at the farm and explained to them what had happen between her and Mr. Kamara. On the arrival of her parents, Mr. Kamara was nowere to be found, and up until now they cannot find him.
The issue of rape has become more serious that every day people hear about the issue of rape. Something needs to be done by both the government and the Family Support Units for all perpetrators that are found guilty of such inhumane act by the court of law must be named and shamed publicly, and suffer the consequences of the law so that the issue of rape can be reduced.
These perpetrators destroy the future of these young girls and rape is also one of the causes of teenage pregnancy. Â If the perpetrators are not held accountable and punished by law, the issue of rape will not reduce.
