Blaming, Complaining, and giving Excuses: Scramble for power
John Benjamin should stop blaming, complaining and giving excuses for their failed political ideologies and what went wrong with the SLPP. It is about time they take full responsibility of their failure. Today the SLPP is spoken of only in pessimistic terms. The SLPP leadership is out of touch with what is going on in the lives of Sierra Leoneans. It came as no surprise to me it is the nature of the political culture of SLPP. It is a shame that John Benjamin is constantly blaming and complaining others and see for himself and the SLPP as a victim of their own failure. The SLPP should get out of their comfort zone and take responsibility for the worst economic and political criss Sierra Leone has ever faced. The SLPP need a generational change and a new vision. Spreading from the top, corruption under the SLPP government became embedded in the system during their time in office. (Photo: Bobby F. Kamara, author)
The dynamic leadership of Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma is working very hard to restore the liberty and opportunity required for every Sierra Leonean to have a shot at the dream. The APC administration is working tirelessly to restore hope and prosperity to all Sierra Leoneans. With all the chips on the table i don’t believe Sierra Leoneans have the luxury to trifle with failed political ideologies. Sierra Leone is very different now. There is no room for politicians who don’t stand for anything. Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma is not only promising, he is delivering. The people of Sierra Leone know that the government cannot solve all their problems. But they don’t want a government that does not represent them. We thank the APC administration for making healthcare free to pregnant women, lactating mothers and children under five.
The Sierra Leoneans want a leader who is focusing on rebuilding the economy, the physical and institutional infrastructure that would lay a solid foundation for achieving sustainable growth and poverty reduction. That is what our people want about the country they love. It is really not a matter of whether you are from the west, east, north or south as John Benjamin said. Ernest Bai Koroma is a president for all Sierra Leoneans. We may support different political parties and come from different places, but we all share common hopes and aspirations and one very Sierra Leone dream. That is the dream President Ernest Bai Koroma is trying to restore.
John Benjamin should know that blaming and complaining others is very easy to do. By doing so he clearly demonstrates the inner weakness of the SLPP. Blaming, complaining and giving excuses is counterproductive because they focus on the negative. Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma takes pride in what he does. He doesn’t waste time in blaming the SLPP and giving excuses. He got the job done. The SLPP should present a serious and responsible proposal on how to tackle the challenges we face in our country. The lack of effective leadership from the SLPP is trying to promote fear and division among the people of Sierra Leone. I am writing as a patriotic citizen. Our people are sick and tired of being manipulated for political gain. I want to see our country recapture the strength and unity it once had when we fought the common enemy instead of ourselves. The battle against poverty, ignorance, corruption, intolerance greed and despair is what we should unite against.
For the destiny of the democracy in Sierra Leone and the respect and dignity of our people I urge all members and sympathizers of all parties, Sierra Leoneans from every section, Muslims and Christians to unite and support the leadership of Dr.Ernest Bai Koroma to meet the challenges we all face. It is now time for us to submerge our differences and realize that we have a common problem to fight poverty, corruption and greed. If we don’t do it now we are going to pass over a legacy of failure, excuses, complaining and blaming others for what went wrong.
