Liberals Sierra Leone 20th Anniversary Inter-fraternity Gala

As the Liberals Brotherhood continues with its 20th Anniversary Football Gala, the Brotherhood will take on Quimanora Foundation in the first semi-finals clash, while Auradicals Foundation will play against Diaspora in the second match of the day on Sunday 11th November 2018, at the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Academy ground, King Tom.

The road to the semi-finals has been quite smooth for the organisers, as they thrashed Status Quo Sierra Leone 4:0.

According to Head Coach for Liberals Sierra Leone, Alhassan Idris Bangura aka Tigo, their hope is to have a full-strength squad to face the challenge of Quimanora Foundation.

“We are not going to expect an easy ride as we did against Status Quo. For us, this match is one we are keen on winning in order to make it to the grand final,” he said, adding that he looks forward to having his left-back, Sahr Morris Jr. fully fit ahead of Sunday’s clash.

He also seemed to criticize his forwards whom he said “were also wasteful in front of goal in the last match,” warning that this is something “we cannot afford to experience in the semi-final.”

Quimanora Foundation are hoping to build on their performance in the Quarter finals, which saw them coming from behind, thanks to goals from Chiefo Moi, and a late penalty which was converted by Lomeh. The Enjoyers would look forward to push aside the Liberites and make it to the finals.

The second semi-final match of the day will see Auradicals locking horns with Diaspora, who eliminated Equals Sierra Leone 2-1 in the quarter-final. Auradicals are sweating out the fitness of their winger, Sidikie Tommy who rescued them in the quarter finals by scoring two superb goals against SKULLZ, who were leading by a goal. Tommy later limped off the field in what appeared to be a groin injury.

The Liberals Sierra Leone and Quimanora Foundation match will kick-off at 3: 00 PM, while Auradicals Foundation and Diaspora will be at 5:00 PM.
