SLPP Plans To Arrest APC Diplomats

In the impromptu Press Release published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation dated 29th June, 2018, with regards the withdrawals of our Honourable Ambassadors/High Commissioners, Deputy Ambassadors and Attaches from their work stations. It could be vividly comprehended that they are still reiterating on that hostile return (referenced -30/04/18) of those dedicated patriots who have adequately represented this nation in their distinct countries of work to Sierra Leone. According to that orchestrated Release, it was thus enunciated “The continued stay of all recalled Diplomats in their respective countries of former accreditation is at their own peril since Government has remitted their repatriation cost to them”. This is really demeaning to our Honourable men and women out there who have sacrificed a lot to uphold the image of this nation by delivering diligent services. How could it be at their own threat when their repatriation packages were drastically reduced and no housing/rent was paid to them?  The New Direction is still not deviating from witch hunting the APC diplomats and some of these happenings are not good precedence for the democratic dispensation of Mama Salone. According to reliable International sources, it was outrageously disclosed that this so-called PAOPA administration are using a dreadful catch to arrest our dignitaries on the premise of salary payments for the month of June to be received here.  (Photo: President Julius Maada Bio)

By every indication, those people out there are Honourable Representatives who were sent on special significant diplomatic missions and that they should be treated as such. President Bio, the people of Sierra Leone are craving your indulgence that we are not under the tenets of “Juntacracy” but rather in a democracy where the rule of Law should be maintained devoid of all odds. It sounds disgusting and very disrespectful to refer to the Ambassadors and Commissioners of Sierra Leone as “meanwhile, please inform all those affected that their salaries/allowances for the month of June will be received in Freetown”.

The general opinion of Sierra Leoneans on this matter is very irritating and that this Government is not a respecter of Authorities. How could you expect such an extemporaneous notice to be effectuated within this shortest ambit of time? It is ridiculous and comical to give such a vengeful order because the term “notice” is ambiguous in this context. Unreasonable notice was given on the 29th June, 2018 for repatriation on the 30th June, 2018. Some rational patriots are referring to this act as the greatest joke since the New Direction came into Governance. The concerned citizens are calling on the attention of President Bio’s Government to treat their Diplomats with high level of professionalism as they have served in the best of their capabilities for the betterment of our country. The genuine concern of Freetonians is to pay our diplomats their repatriation packages, full housing/rent and salaries/allowances for the month of June.

The APC Diplomats have expressed their sincere concern that they are willing and capable to return to Freetown provided their emoluments are adequately met.
