Hon. Alhassan Kamara faces stiff resistance

As the Sierra Leone House of Parliament closed, 7th December, 2017, constituents in Constituency 113 formerly Constituency 096 within the Kola Tree, Calaba Town, Orugu and Mayenkineh axis, have discouraged their Member of Parliament, Honorable Alhassan Kamara to continue disappearing into thin air as they are preparing to replace him with a more competent representative.

Speaking to members of the media in a displeased mood, the Secretary General of the Mount Zion Community, Mr. Alfred Sesay, stated that they are very disappointed at their legislator for not living up to their expectations throughout the five years he has been in parliament.

Describing his representation as wasted years, Mr. Sesay explained that since Hon. Alhassan Kamara promised to use his lobbying skills to erect electric poles in the community, he became invisible in the eyes of everybody.

He cautioned the Chairman and Leader of the APC, President Ernest Bai Koroma and other decision makers in the ruling party not to impose any candidate on them but they should allow them to choose their own candidate.

He revealed that Hon. Alhassan Kamara is not a son of the soil but was imposed on them from the blues as a result of President Koroma’s blessing and the popular APC 444 slogan.

He recalled that throughout the Ebola outbreak when other representatives were busy sensitizing their people to save lives, the law maker never paid them a visit until when his name started appearing on front pages of several newspapers, accusing him of neglecting his subjects.

The most disheartening part of this episode, according to the disgruntled voters is that Hon. Kamara offended even the dead by allegedly grabbing a portion of community land put aside as a memorial park to bury the dead.

Contacting the Member of Parliament to respond to the allegations leveled against him, he refused to react, but argued that he did not grab any community land meant for cemetery purpose, stressing that his own land is located at Mayenkineh in Calaba Town.
