Maci Descendants  Association has donated $3,500 worth of food items to survivors of August 14 mudslide in Regent village.

President of the association, Alpha Mohamed Bah has expressed their deepest sympathy for the loss of lives and properties in the August 14th 2017 mudslide and flooding disaster that took place in Freetown after heavy down pour of rains. “We join the government and people of Sierra Leone in mourning for the dead and caring for the survivors; most of whom have been made homeless as a result of these unfortunate occurrences”, Mr. Bah noted. He maintained that their organizations are responding to the clarion call for assistance towards survivors. These are people that are in need of help and therefore we saw the need to intervene and complement government efforts in supporting these survivors. Yesterday these people had families but today they don’t have any families due to the mudslide and flooding episodes in mama Salone.

“We pray that Allah the comforter will take absolute control of the situation. There is need for all of us to be together as a family in these trying times and be supportive of one another’’ he stated.

Another member of the association, Alusine Bah said the Maci Descendants in the USA and the Bhantal Maci Office in Guinea want to show patriotism that is why they have contributed financially to rescue survivors. He mentioned 2,000 kg of rice, 540 kg of sugar, 204 Liters of Vegetable cooking oil, 1,250 pieces of tomatoes, 500 packets of salt, 12 cartoons of laundry soap, 3 cartoons tooth paste, 2 cartoons tooth brushes, 27 cartoons of milk and 2 cartoons of Maggie as the items bought to supply the survivors.

Members of the above mentioned organizations hailed from the neighboring Guinea and Sierra Leone before immigrating to America.
