Pavi-Fort Boost Agenda For Prosperity With Operation Clean Salone

In a bid to have a very clean and hygienic environment, Pavi- Fort Construction Company, a road construction company based in Koinadugu district in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs, embarked on a massive cleaning exercise past Sunday the 18th of June 2017 in the east end of Freetown starting from Texaco new road to east end police via kissy road.

Speaking during the cleaning exercise, the Public relation Officer of Pavi-Fort, Abubakar Kamara popularly known as Dede Abu said that as part of their cooperate social responsibilities and part of their nationalistic and patriotic drive for the country, the company is supporting the cleaning exercise as a way of giving back to the country and also to complement government’s Agenda for Prosperity. He added that they have come all the way from the farthest part of the north in Kabala to provide logistical and human resource support through the provision of 15 heavy trucks, 4 front loaders and 300 man power to join the youth of the city in this exercise. Mr. Kamara further stated that, since we all know that cleanliness in the capital city is a serious issue especially during the rainy season, they decided to start this operation in the capital city because according to him, when the capital city is clean, other provincial cities will replicate or copy that example. He assured that this exercise will be replicated throughout the country.

Also speaking during the exercise, the Minister of Youth Affairs, Hon. Bai Mahmoud Bangura commended the effort of Pavi-Fort Construction Company especially the CEO, Mr. Alimu Bah for supporting this operation by providing the logistical and man power support. He said that part of the president’s Post Ebola Recovery Priorities is to have a very clean and hygienic environment and that is why they as youth are out in their numbers to support the operation clean Freetown. The Hon. Minister concluded by calling on other companies and individuals to emulate the good example of Pavi-Fort by also providing support to the exercise in order to sustain and ensure it continuity.

In another statement, the chairman of the operation, Mr. Gibrilla Conteh called on all Sierra Leoneans to change their attitudes towards the issue of waste disposal and management adding that the cleanliness of this country rely on us all
