Gullah Kinship Association Frowns at Government
Members of the Sierra Leone Gullah Kinship Association have expressed disappointment at Government for not accommodating the organization to support its current economic crisis in the country.
Chairman Gullah Kinship Association Lamin Kamara said, his organisation is the one of the biggest organizations in the country with international relations line-up to change the financial status of its members and the nation at large.
He disclosed that, his organisation is working closely with the Gullah nation in America that intends to rebuild the historic links between Sierra Leone and America.
The Gullah Kinship Chairman furthered that, African American investors are only waiting on the Memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the government of Sierra Leone and the Gullah nations in America that comprises of Africa American Billionaires in the making to flood the country with verities of viable investment that would bring a spin in the current economy situation the country now finds itself.
He recalled that, the administrative document for the ongoing venture is yet to be approved by the Chief of Staff.
He also recalled that this is not the first time efforts were made by his organization to boost the country, citing how the Late Chief Bumper Dumbuya fought hard to come with the largest number of investors into the country but his effort were thwarted by political forces.
The Chairman added that, the effort of the late chief was shattered by some selfish individuals in governance who put self interest above national interests.
Personal Assistance to Chief of Staff, Al-Aziz Turay debunked the allegations of the chairman and clarified that, the Office of the Chief of Staff has always treat the Gullah Kingship with dignity but frowned at Gullah Kinship for what he described as inconsistency in actualizing its long awaited dream.
