APC may lose Constituency 62 if…

The ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) may lose Constituency 62 in the coming bye-elections slated for June 29th this year if John Sallu Gbla, who is the preferred choice of the people is denied the APC symbol.

Active APC member, Mr Bobson Thullah told Sierra Express Media (SEM) that any attempt by the ruling government to give the symbol to an unpopular  choice of the people other than John Sallu Gbla will be met with stiff resistance.

Mr. Thullah further disclosed that John Gbla has done a lot for the people of Constituency 62 and beyond, including primary, secondary and university students in Tonkolili District, not to talk about his provision of a medical facility to the poor.

Thullah said John Gbla has been dubbed the poor man’s friend in Tonkolili because of his sympathy with the poor people. Therefore, majority of the voting population in Constituency 62 are calling on President Koroma to give John Gbla the symbol because he has built schools in the community, operates a water factory, built toilets in the community and so by giving him the symbol they know that he will do more for the people of Tonkolili.

In another related development last week Thursday, there was massive demonstration by the women folk in Tonkolili, calling on the government to award the symbol to J. S. Gbla.

The women have vowed that come next week if the symbol is not awarded to J. S. Gbla they will storm Tonkolili stark naked in protest over their popular choice.
