What sight is this for our Okada men?

The fear of accident should not prevent us from driving cars , Okadas’, motorcycles or any other means of transportation – this ideal does not need any crusade for popularization; it has become more famous than existence.  Nobody is contesting that modernity is too strong for ancient life, as references exist beyond reasonable doubts that people used to walk thousands of miles shoeless.  However, the idea to overcoming long distances within seconds in this age does not warrant endangering our lives.

What we wish to establish is that Sierra Leoneans are the bravest mortals God ever created-it is high time the world at large sensed that.  Calamities do not instill fear, instead annihilate fear in them. The most recent transport system catapulted from Nigeria-the notorious okada bizness- is nothing but a curse to this nation. God help this nation!

We know this sub-region very well but the narrow nature of our roads in this country; Freetown for specificity with special reference to Kissy Road does not call for any other means of transportation.  Does it? Kissy is the most favorite route for bike riders forcing their way among huge trucks and cars, referencing the destructive nature of our bye-pass routes.

The previous night left off with reports of a bike rider whose head was smashed and the lady behind him lost one of her limbs around Easton Street Kissy Road axis.  This sad occurrence has not sent any fear as people are even becoming proactive in mounting okadas. We are pleading on the authorities concerned to make our access routes motorable so that the endless death alarm caused by bike riders would minimize in this city if not come to a permanent halt.
