True nationalism stems from being a patriot

Time and again the question of the spirit of true nationalism had been a serious challenge by all Sierra Leoneans. The spirit of nationalism is one that is being articulated and praise-sung by past and present Leaders, but it seems that many Sierra Leoneans, if not all, lack a true understanding, or better still, the true meaning of the said words.

Nationalism in this context implies that one’s views, visions, and beliefs must be fraternally connected to the symbol of oneness by the ideology of national dreams. Some say a reformed and focus thinking man thinks alongside his civic responsibilities which as well can be substituted for the attributes of a true patriot. The authorial definition might not clearly detail whet appetites of many who assumed to know better, but a true concentrated mind will agree that many of uslack the tenets and characteristics of statehood and oneness.

The Sierra Leonean atmosphere is diffused with serious tribal, political, social, institutional, and sectional cracks that have eaten deep into the fabrics of our society.

Tribalism is on the increase as it points towards the facts, job appointments are now being considered on tribal stronghold phraseology.

The political landscape euphoria is centered on partisan basis in contrast to those dreams sharing nationalism spirit. Public officials are on record of working in consonance with the wills of their political godfathers neglecting issues of their civic responsibilities to articulate state matters and issues.
