SLPP Government Inflicts More Hardship

The Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) led government headed by President Julius Maada Bio has again inflicted more hardship on the already suffering innocent Sierra Leoneans by the recent fuel pump prince increment in the country.

The Leader and Chairman of the opposition Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), Mr. Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray has said that the Bio led government has no sympathy for the already suffering masses in the country due to the recent fuel pump price increment in the country.

Mr. Kamarainba intimated this medium via telephone chat that “This government led by President Bio doesn’t have the people at heart; they are always playing the blame game. The recent fuel price increment is untimely and unfair to the masses”. He continued that the people of Sierra Leone were not expecting this at this crucial moment as the basic cost of living is just skyrocketing in the country.

Mr. Kamarainba stated that President Julius Maada Bio is running an agenda for failure, adding that as he is been saying and will continue, President Julius Maada Bio is a ‘One Term President’ come 2023, the people of Sierra Leone will vote him out.

Mr. Mansaray explained that in recent past, this same government increased electricity tariff and tax that has led to the rapid increase in cement and other building materials. “A bag of cement is now Le 80,000 and a bag of rice is Le 300,000, I don’t know how they expect the people of this country to cope with this current hardship. Is like the government and the president don’t care for the people of this country”.

It could be recalled that the SLPP government led by President Julius Maada Bio has on Friday 17th January 2020 issued a public notice informing the nation that the pump prices of petroleum products has increased with immediate effect:

Petrol from Le 8,500 to Le 9000 per litre, Diesel from Le 8,500 to Le 9000 per litre, Kerosene Le 8,500 to Le 9000 per litre and Fuel Oil from Le 7000 to Le 9000 per litre. Consequences thereof, the transport fare have change and it was announced that internal public transportation has increased from Le 1,500 to Le 1,700 but drivers have claimed that they don’t have coins and for them, you need to pay Le 2000.
