Music Superstar Performs as Moyamba Prepares to Receive President Koroma
Moyamba is warming up as the District awaits the arrival of H. E Dr Ernest Bai Koroma to officially launch his Manifesto and campaign in the district. A musical group from Liberia, which did one of the hottest songs in honor of President Koroma performs the hit song live in Moyamba while supporters and admirers of the president dance as they await his arrival.
Moyamba, like all other districts in the country visited by the President so far is about to be painted red today by the All People’s Congress party. This is more so because Moyamba district is the home district of the Chairman of the Presidential Campaign Committee for the South-East, Hon. Musa Tarawally and earlier Musa said to me when I caught up with him that: “My goal is not only to get a huge crowd out for the President today, but to also deliver Moyamba district for him on November 17, 2012.” And this is very likely with the turn up and enthusiasm expressed here from Traditional and Religious Leaders, youth groups and other organizations, which all comprise of people of voting age.
President Koroma will surely be thrilled by the turn out here today as he has been so far in every district he has visited in the Southern and Eastern regions of the country.But Tarawally and his team have a bigger plan for the President than just pulling large crowds for rallies. “We now have strategies in place to transform all these into votes on polling day and these strategies are already in place to ensure an APC victory on the first ballot.” Tarawally concluded.
Moyamba District is among the Districts considered an SLPP stronghold and a District that was a no go zone for the APC during the 2007 general elections when the SLPP was in governance, but the APC has built strength fast in this district as in many other district in the South-East due to the developmental projects the Ernest Koroma led APC government is undertaking in every district across the country for which the youths of the country have named him “World Best.”
From all indication, this once stronghold of the SLPP where they have enjoyed huge support and received large votes has surely been dented by the APC and if Tarawally and Co succeed in transforming this turn out into votes as they have promised, then the SLPP has a bigger problem than just losing the elections on the first ballot to the APC in November.
