As APC captures Kukuna, Sierra Leone …residents complain SLPP of neglect

As the ruling All Peoples Congress politically ‘invades’ the perceived backyard of former President Kabba(h) in Briamia chiefdom in Constituency 40, residents of Gberekuweh Section have expressed disappointment and dismay that their decision over the years to stay with SLPP as a result of the influence of ‘our brother and son, former President Kabba (a)” came as a disappointment to them, since they have since been neglected and   now feels disappointed at especially former President Tejan Kabba (h).  (Photo: Kukuna goes APC)

‘Invasion’ of Kukuna by Dr Sam Sesay.-an event we should not forget….

Speaking during a recent meeting held in Gberekuweh Section and attended by Ministers of Government, Dr. Joseph Sam Sesay and Ambassador Dauda Kamara of Agriculture and Local Government respectively, the chief Imam of Kabaya section, Mohamed Haddy Bangura commended the APC government for the development now taking place in Sierra Leone and informed the hundreds of people who attended the meeting that their decision to join the SLP was as a result of the influence of their brother, former President Kabba(h) but however expressed disappointment  that former President Kabba(h) failed them, in that not much was done for them in terms of development. He promised, on behalf of his people to deliver constituency 40 to the ruling APC party. They especially promised to vote not just President Koroma, but to also vote for Dr. Foday Suma as MP for the APC.

Similar views were also expressed by Morlai Kamara, a community elder who promised to return the APC to power but also used the occasion to appeal to government to continue taking development to them, especially in terms of education.  The Paramount Chief for Briamia Chiefdom, Kandeh Kabba Sedu  in his statement called on his people to vote solidly for the APC and President Koroma saying, that “what we have seen in terms of development in five years is great and we will want to continue seeing development here..” He spoke that it is the government of President Ernest Koroma that has helped to change the image of the chiefdom within the last five years, especially in terms of agriculture.

Pa Dauda Kamara and Sam Sesay, taking message of President Koroma to Kukuna residents….

Both Ministers Dauda Kamara and Dr. Sam Sesay commended the people of Kukuna for the huge turnout at the meetings and promised to do more in terms of development for not just Kukuna but for the entire country, when the APC is reelected.  They said, they had gone to Kukuna to thank the people for the trust they had in President Koroma five years ago when they elected him into governance. According to Minister Sesay, “if in 2007 you entrusted us with governance and we delivered, it means we can do more, when reelected in November.”He also informed the people that they have undertaken development to every corner of Sierra Leone as could be seen in agriculture, infrastructure and in local governance and that “the APC is sure of doing more than what we did when reelected.”

Similar meeting was also held in Tonko Limba, in the same Kambia district, where thousands of party supporters turned out at the APC hall in the township, which was chaired by Commissioner Saidu C. Sesay of NaCSA. Meanwhile, series of campaign events have been slated for both Briamia and Tonko Limba Chiefdoms by the ruling APC Party
