As New Nigerian Judge Jets In…More Foreign Judges To Come
The judiciary of Sierra Leone has welcomed the services of a new Nigerian judge to Sierra Leone, Hon. Justice Paul to help strengthen the justice delivery sector in the country.
The Nigerian judge, Hon. Justice Paul arrived in Sierra Leone on Monday July 16 with the object of working and arranging a full chamber at the High Court of Sierra Leone.
Chief Justice Umu-Hawa Tejan Jalloh in welcoming the Nigerian Judge said much improvement is needed to give the Sierra Leone justice system a boost, adding that Hon. Justice Paul would deliver quality considering her wealth of experience, working at the International Criminal Court (ICC), stationed in the Hague.
Among those foreign judges whom are currently servicing as contract judges, – courtsey of DFID in the Sierra Leone includes Master and Registra of the Sierra Leone Law Court, Justice Sarkodie Mensah, Ugandan Judge Hon. Justice Katlugi, Gambian born Hon. Justice St. George Joine of the post tract commercial court.
The Chief Justice of Sierra Leone, Hon. Justice Umu-Hawa Tejan Jalloh said there will be more foreign judges coming to Sierra Leone working to strengthen the Justice system. Meanwhile, Justice Paul is currently meeting with the Nigerian High Commissioner and other stakeholders briefing them on her stay in Sierra Leone.
