New ACC Regional Manager South meets with stakeholders and alliance partners in southern region
The newly appointed Regional Manager – South of the Anti- Corruption Commission has on Tuesday 9th August 2011 met with key stakeholders and alliance partners in the Southern Region during the Provincial Security Committee (PROSEC) meeting at the Provincial Secretary’s Office, Tikonko Road in Bo. The new manager in the person of Mr. Mohamed Dumbuya was presented to PROSEC members on behalf of the ACC Commissioner, Mr. Joseph F Kamara by Mr. Anthony Samu, the ACC District Coordinator for Bo District. In attendance at the meeting included; the Resident Minister – South, Hon. Moijue Kaikai, The Provincial Secretary – South, Mr. Jacob E Quee and the Provincial Security Coordinator (ONS) – South, Mr. Sahr P Mafinda.
Welcoming the new Manager, Mr. Dumbuya, the Provincial Secretary, Mr. Quee who also doubled as chairman of the PROSEC meeting, and on behalf of the Resident Minister, informed the meeting that Mr. Dumbuya had earlier made a courtesy call on him with a view of facilitating to meet with other stakeholders in the Region.
Provincial Secretary Quee expressed his kind sentiments for the good work the ACC is doing in the nation, and concluded that they are all committed to supporting the efforts of the Commission. Mr. Quee on behalf of the Resident Minister – South, then formally endorsed the posting of Mr. Mohamed Dumbuya not only as ACC Regional Manager – South, but also as member of PROSEC – South.
In response, the new ACC Regional Manager, Mr. Mohamed Dumbuya, expressed his delight to be part and parcel of the Southern Region not only for the Anti-Corruption Commission operations, but more so being a member of the PROSEC –South where all security matters bordering within the region are discussed. Mr. Dumbuya informed the meeting that corruption it self is a security issue and concern, stating that one of the causes of the decade civil unrest in this country is as a result of corruption.
Mr. Dumbuya acknowledged the fact that the work of the Commission is so challenging that it can not be done by the ACC alone. He commended the efforts of all the stakeholders and Alliance Partners of the ACC, and implored them to continue the support they have been rendering to the work of the Commission in the interest of this nation. He cited some of the strategic partners of the ACC which include; the Sierra Leone Police (SLP), RSLAF and the Civil Society Organizations that have been working very closely with the ACC. He emphasized
that his office doors are always open and ready to cooperate and collaborate with all genuine and patriotic citizens interested in stopping corruption in Sierra Leone.
Earlier in the week, the New Manager, Mr. Dumbuya had met with the Paramount Chief of Kakua Chiefdom, Bo District, P C Prince Lappia Boima IV, the Mayor and Chairman of Bo City and Bo District Councils respectively.
