Ali Hussein Bazzy leads mulatto participation in Lebanese Committee
Mr. Ali Hussein Bazzy (in photo) has said that he is standing to be elected as a member of the Lebanese Executive Committee in order to be a voice for the thousands of Sierra Leonean Lebanese mulattoes in the country.
Talking to Sierra Express Media in an exclusive interview, Mr. Bazzy stated that he believes that the Sierra Leonean Lebanese mulattoes must have a representation in the Lebanese Committee since they are born by either Lebanese fathers or mothers.
He lamented that for far too long Sierra Leonean Lebanese mulattoes have been marginalized by their Lebanese relatives who seldom regard them as party of them.
He maintained that mulattoes are part of the Lebanese and they must be accorded the right to belong to the community.
He stressed that he is standing in the Lebanese Committee election in order to raise awareness in the Lebanese and the mulattoes to realize that they are from the same race and they must work together in order to enhance love, unity and oneness among them for them to realize their aspirations.
He revealed that he is canvassing the support of both the Lebanese and the mulattoes for them to vote for him and give him the opportunity to articulate the aspirations of the mulattoes as well as bridge the gap between the Lebanese and the mulattoes.
“I am not fighting this cause because I want power but my goal is to let our Lebanese relatives be made to realize that we are a part of them and they must embrace us and give us our rights,” he concluded.
The Lebanese Executive Committee elections will be held on Sunday, 11th. November, 2018 at the Young Sportsmen Club (YSC) at Wilkinsoon Road in the west end of Freetown.
