Human Trafficking Reported At No.1 Munu Drive Waterloo

Speaking on behalf of the Head of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abubakarr Kargbo reported that a group of 15 people have been arrested and put under Police custody for allegedly recruiting and trafficking Sierra Leoneans out of the country.

ASP Kargbo disseminated this information at a press conference held at the Police Headquarters, George Street in Freetown on Thursday 16th August 2018.

He explained that the fifteen suspects comprised ten male and five female adding that the group was also accused of operating a fake mining company without legal or correct documentation in the same address above.

But ASP Kargbo could not establish clearly the purpose of the recruitment, either to seek overseas employment or other reason but confirmed that the apprehended are currently helping the Police with their investigation.
