We Hope and Pray, No Single Case will be recorded again says Bio in Moyamba

On Tuesday 27th October, the Rtd. Brig. Bio told thousands of people in Moyamba district that they were hoping and praying that no single case will be recorded again in the country.

Speaking in Moyamba to a multitude of people at the town field as part of his social mobilisation tour, Rtd. Brig. Bio reminded the people of the number of days left for Sierra Leone to be declared Ebola free and encouraged all not to be complacent. He also told the people that he was in Moyamba to facilitate the eradication of Ebola and reminded them that he was amongst the first of those who called on government to take seriously the threat posed by Ebola to the country and also called for international assistance.

He thanked everyone for their support in eradicating Ebola and encouraged all to abide by the protocols. Rtd. Brig. Bio also expressed condolences to the people for all those who lost their loved ones during the Ebola fight.

Also at the town field, there were various speakers such as Hon. Edward Soluku, Hon. Veronica Kadie Sesay, Dr. Kadie Sesay amongst others whilst the chairman of the occasion was Dr. Ali Bah.

As part of his routine, Rtd. Brig. Bio and entourage also made a courtesy call to officials at the Moyamba district emergency response centre.During the courtesy call the district coordinator Mrs. Sarah Jalloh welcomed the entourage and gave them a situation report of Ebola in the district. She described the contact tracers as the back bone of the Moyamba Ebola operations.

In response, Rtd. Brig. Bio expressed appreciation for their efforts in doing a good job. He thanked traditional leaders for their cooperation and told the officials he could not come to Moyamba when he came during the peak of Ebola because of the travel restrictions. He said he was able to make some interventions in terms of giving food items to quarantined people. He told the officials that he was only reinforcing the old message but with a new voice.

Also, as part of his respect for traditional authority, Rtd. Brig. Bio and entourage made a courtesy call to the paramount chief of Kaiyamba chiefdom, PC Foday Momoh Gulama, where the paramount chief welcomed him to the town he referred to as Bio’s home and offered prayers for Rtd. Brig. Bio and entourage.

In another Separate engagement on Tuesday in Pujehun before he left for Moyamba, Rtd. Brig. Bio also visited the Maternal and Child Health Aide School of Nursing in Pujehun where he admonised students to give their best to their communities and encouraged them to take Dr. Kadie Sesay as a role model and copy her fine example. He told the students the place for women is nolonger the kitchen and that they must pursue their dreams.
