H.E.Henry Macauley’s Appointment “Secures Regional Ties & Reinforces Cooperation” Ibn Chambas

Economic Community of West African States Commission (ECOWAS) President, Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas has expressed optimism about prospects that will be brought by the appointment of His Excellency Henry Olufumi Macauley as the new envoy to the seat of the Country’s permanent representative at the regional body.

Accepting his letter of credence as Sierra Leone’s Permanent Representative to  ECOWAS Commission, Friday, October 30th, 2009 ECOWAS President Dr. Mohamed  Ibn Chambas said  “Your Excellency, “It is my sincere hope that your appointment will encourage development initiative and realization of projects aimed at accelerating the pace of reintegration and development of the people’s in the region.

“I am informed that, it is the desire of the Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone to appoint you as Permanent Representative to the Economic Community of West African State Commission (ECOWAS).

“I wish to express my appreciation to the Government of Sierra Leone for this gesture.

“It will not only reinforce the cooperation between ECOWAS and the Republic of Sierra Leone, but will also further strengthen the close ties between our respective Nations and Communities.”

Dr. Chambas assured the Permanent representative of his fullest cooperation, and the readiness of his colleagues at the ECOWAS Commission to assist him in any way, which might contribute to the success of his mission.

Two weeks ago, His Excellency Henry Olufumi Macauley presented his letter of credence to Federal Republic of Nigeria’s President Umaru Musa Yar Adua, at his Presidential Villa at Aso Rock in Abuja.

Accompanying Sierra Leone’s Permanent Representative were the Deputy high Commissioner Major General (Rtd) Edwin Sam Mbomah, Head of Chancery James T. Sawi, First Secretary Rakie Macarthy and Information Attaché Pasco Gerald Temple

Meanwhile, Sierra Leone’s High commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Permanent Representative to ECOWAS His Excellency Henry Olufumi Macauley has on Friday officially launched the High Commission’s web site: www.slhc-nigeria.org
