APC Aspirant Rescues Passengers at Deep Eye Water
Passengers at Deep Eye Water, in the Western Rural District have been rescued from the heavy down pour of rain after the only passengers booth in the community was vandalized; leaving people to get soaked while waiting for commercial vehicles.
The zinc and iron bars were looted and this booth was left unattended for months until recently when an individual in the community, in the person of John Sati Kargbo, as the Chairman of the Development Committee of Deep Eye Water, stood firm to ensure that the passengers are protected from the heavy drops of rain.
According to the Developmental Chairman, he spent his physical cash amounting over a million Leones to repair the passengers’ station. He said his gesture is not only for political gains as he plans to run for his constituency under the All Peoples Congress (APC) come the 2018 elections, but to demonstrate his willingness to assist his people in time of need.
The Passengers’ station was said to have been hit by vehicle one mid night and thieves were left with no alternative but to steal the materials the place was built with.
Mr. Kargbo therefore called on all politicians to make necessary interventions to some of the challenges people are faced with in the wards and constituencies they want to represent. For one to succeed in gaining massive political attention in the politics of today in Sierra Leone, one has to be with the grass root and help them when the need arises. He was said to have been striving for development to take place in Rokel and Deep Eye Water villages; constructing water wells, taps and even going to the extent of asking the Headman critical questions having to do with revenue resources meant to be used to develop these villages.
It had been reported that the Headman, Ibrahim Sesay was dragged to the Anti- Corruption Commission on the allegations of misappropriation and diversion of public funds generated from sand and stone mining activities going on in Deep eye Water and Devil Hole communities.
