SLPP Bamba Jalloh Vies Again
Former Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) Aspirant, Bamba Jalloh, who lost Hon. Alhansan Kamara of former constituency 96 in Calaba Town in 2012, is reported to have vied again under the banner of the SLPP.
This was the man who scored the highest vote for SLPPB in the Western Area in 2012.
Before he went into active politics, Bamba Jalloh was a motor mechanic who worked in a garage at Foamex. He was the Chairman for the Calaba Town Social and Cultural Union (CATSCU) through which he has owned a Waste Management Company.
For his waste management company, he bought carts and encouraged the youth to take part in the cleaning of their environment with the view that the alarming death toll during the past Cholera in the east of the capital city was mainly due to filth and none availability of toilet facilities in his constituency.
The waste management project established by Jalloh is reported to have employed dozens of youth in the community for which he is praised by the youth for his innovation and desire to positively transform their lives.
He is reported to have facilitated the release of hundreds of Calaba Town youth who were in conflict with the law, spending his own money to ensure the non-imprisonment of youth in his community.
He worked with INGO’s in the Water and Sanitation consortium as Chairman during which period he worked earnestly to ensure that projects were implemented successfully.
Jalloh has also worked in collaboration with street child organizations and has played a great role in ensuring that street children also have a right to live and learn in favorable atmosphere.
Three drivers out of five youth interviewed at Foamex admitted how Jalloh facilitated their release from the correctional services after being detained for days for traffic offences.
During the just- concluded biometric and voters registration exercise, he was reported to have provided food and logistical support to SLPP party agents in all the respective registration centers in his constituency.
